Native Nigerian protagonist Ifemulu immigrates towards the american dream. While navigating through experiences of a long distance relationship, cultural switch,interpreting racism and expectations of a black student in white society, the story spreads across continents and several characters, which in my opinion do not dilute the main plot but rather enriches it.
